| Summary: | Preiser’s disease, also known as idiopathic avascular necrosis of the scaphoid bone, is a rare pathological condition that occurs in the absence of fracture or pseudarthrosis. The etiology of this condition is not completely understood but is believed to be triggered by an interruption of blood flow to the scaphoid bone. We present the case of an adult patient who exhibited scaphoid bone necrosis and did not improve with conservative treatment. Therefore, surgical intervention was indicated, which demonstrated satisfactory results. |
