Description
Summary:The creation of the École préparatoire à l’enseignement du droit of Fort-de-France serves multiples purposes resulting of national and local context occuring in Martinique from the end of the xixth century until the inter-war-period. These purposes are influenced both by assimilationist aspirations reflected in Martinique policy and by republican policy of the Third Republic. Nevertheless, metropolitan realities hinders the achievement of these local aims. These ones are then overwhelmed by more significant issues which aim to turn the École préparatoire à l’enseignement du droit of Fort-de-France not only into a place of profesional training of the local elite, but also into a place influence of the French juridic science in the Caribbean region.
