description Archaeology is increasingly delving into the study of recent phenomena, seeking to understand current social practices to address contemporary societal challenges. Our work aligns with this perspective by applying an archaeological approach to analyze anthropogenic destruction of Mesoamerican cultural heritage. This paper focuses on archaeological looting practices, contemporary events that not only impact artifacts but also scientific knowledge through the loss of valuable information. Thus, we conduct an archaeology of actions and behaviors, characterizing the traces and their evolution over time and space, while identifying recurring patterns linked to sociological, political, and economic contexts. This article describes the methodology developed to address this issue, which integrates and adapts traditional archaeological techniques with opportunities provided by new technologies and neighboring sciences. Structuring data and standardizing processes aim to create an interoperable information system for spatial and statistical analysis and predictive model development. We present the reasoning behind this methodological approach, underlying questions, and the various steps involved.
