Summary: | Spokeswomen of the main candidates in the French presidential election in 2012 have displayed at the same time seductive femininity and professional political competence in these high profile exposed positions. It is not excluded that the tension, supposed to be insoluble, between the representation of women and representation of power is partially cleared at the end of this campaign, despite two men competing in the second round. Their behaviour responds to two logics, one of differentiation from men with the highlighting of femininity, a real added value when communication is mainly based on seduction, and an evident logic of alignment in the performance of the role. |
