| Summary: | Metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a burgeoning worldwide burden and is currently the leading indication for a liver transplant. Despite the growing burden of disease, there are few pharmacological treatments available. The underlying molecular mechanisms of the development of MASLD are still being elucidated. In this review, we will summarize the known molecular mechanisms in the development of MASLD along with past, current, and future pharmacologic clinical trials. |
