Summary:This paper focuses on clarifying the change and state of the urban fabric in the residential environment of the old city of Mosul. This city, with a distinctive architectural character, was destroyed and lost most of its features due to the recent war, in addition to the influence of other factors. From this point, the need arose to shed light on the state of the urban fabric, especially the residential environment in the study site. The research aims to study the dimensions of the change in the urban fabric of the city. The research assumed that there were factors that affected the pattern of traditional housing schemes in the city. The research adopted an analysis system for the city's data, in addition to the survey data that was conducted there, and the comparison between the old city and the modern part of the city of Mosul.
