description The use of biologically active additives has long attracted the attention of veterinary specialists. The search for additives that solve several problems at the same time, for example, providing macro- and microelements, vitamins and having sorption properties capable of removing toxins of various origins. The problem of self-gnawing of wool has recently been increasingly associated with the development of an immunodeficiency condition in animals. Therefore, the search for substances that enhance natural immunity remains an important problem in veterinary medicine. The article describes the effect of a phytomineral feed additive on the treatment and prevention of hair self-gnawing in chinchillas. A comparative bonus assessment of animals was carried out. The photographic documents of the condition of the coat before and after feeding the phytomineral feed additive are presented. For the first time, the positive effect of the mineral composition in combination with vitamins and bioflavanoids of phytoproducts from sea buckthorn on solving the problem that devalues fur raw materials has been experimentally proven. Changes in hematological and immunological parameters before and after the use of the tested additive are presented. An economic assessment of the effectiveness of using this additive has been carried out.
