Description
Summary:Objective To study the therapeutic effect of calcitriol treating hypertensive nephropathy with vitamin D deficiency. Methods Totally 65 cases of hypertensive nephropathy complicated with microalbuminuria and vitamin D deficiency were randomly divided into control group(32 cases)and observation group(33 cases). The control group was given conventional standardized treatment to control blood pressure, and the observation group was given oral administration of calcitriol capsules(0.25 μg,once a night) for totally 12 weeks besides blood pressure control therapy. The levels of blood pressure, serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3,calcium,phosphorus,serum intact parathyroid hormone, serum cystatin C,first morning urine microalbumin and urine beta-2 microdobulin were compared between these two groups before and after treatment Results There was no significant difference in the clinic characteristics before treatment between two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the phosphorus, and systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after treatment in these two groups(P>0.05).As compared with the control group and those before treatment, the levels of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3,and calcium were higher, and serum intact parathyroid hormone was lower after treatment in observation group(P<0.05),however,these values were within the normal range. The levels of serum cystatin C,urine microalbumin and urine beta-2 microdobulin were decreased significantly after treatment in observation group(P<0.01).Conclusions Calcitriol can reduce the levels of serum cystatin C,urine microalbumin and urine beta-2 microdobulin in the hypertensive nephropathy patients with vitamin D deficiency.
