| Summary: | The development, survival and reproduction of Takecallis taiwanus (Takahashi)(Homoptera: Callaphidiae) were determined under seven constant temperatures ranging from 5℃ to 35℃. Temperature affected the development rate, survivorship and life-span, fecundity and reproductive rate of T. taiwanus. The aphids could survive and reproduce over a range from 5℃ up to 30 ℃, with maximum fecundity at about 16 ℃. Mean generation time decreased from 54 days at 5℃ to 9 days 30℃. Adult longevity was longest (33 days) at 10℃ and was shortened at temperature below or above 10 ℃. Development and doubling times were shortest, and intrinsic rate of increase highest at 25 ℃. No nymph could survive up to the adult stage at 35 ℃. |
