Description
Summary:The report is devoted to the themes and phenomena of Latin American culture that became part of the discussion at the scientific forum of specialists in Ibero-Romance studies, which is traditionally held every two years at the Philological Faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University. The XII All-Russian scientific conference with international participation «Ibero-Romance Studies in the Modern Word: Academic Paradigm and Current Challenges» was held on November 21–22, 2024; more than 130 people took part in its work. 54 speakers, including representatives of various universities, research institutes and museums of the country, brought up for discussion a wide range of issues related to the culture of the Ibero-Romance world. The report examines the main provisions of the presented papers in the field of Latin American studies, which reflect a wide range of interests of modern literary criticism, cultural studies, linguistics and history. At the plenary session, 3 reports were made on general trends in the formation of Latin American culture — main literary phenomena, important aspects of intercultural relations and bright markers of national identity. Ten papers were presented at five sectional sessions, discussing specific aspects of the study of Latin American literature, folklore, cinema, journalism, as well as issues related to translation, the history of philological science and ethnocultural symbolism. The conference was accompanied by video and musical presentations and traditionally ended with a concert.
