| Summary: | Abstract As cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide and breast cancer is a significant health concern among young women, it is crucial to consider its substantial morbidity and mortality. Breast cancer (BC) cases must be prioritized and addressed primarily in low- and middle-income countries, as these regions face unique challenges that require solutions despite limited resources. Thus, the primary focus of this review article is to discuss the current state of breast cancer risk, symptoms, diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and research, as well as the challenges and optimal methods that minimize harm to healthy tissues. This review highlights emerging technologies such as 3D imaging, deep inspiration breath-hold techniques, intensity-modulated radiation therapy, volumetric-modulated arc therapy, and aromatase inhibitors. These advancements are vital for overcoming the challenges in breast cancer care. On-going research and collaboration are essential to improve our understanding of breast cancer and its effects on the health and well-being of every woman. |
