description | This introductory paper outlines a special collection on reconnection to self, others, and nature (SON) in higher education. The collection includes this introductory paper on the project background, process, and outcomes, an essay on the experiences from the Value Creators (VC) and Managing Projects for Sustainable Development (MPSD) semesters, and two research articles on transformative teaching and spirituality in education. The project, part of a four-year degree programme in Global Project and Change Management at Windesheim Honours College, developed practical learning tools to integrate SON into higher education for sustainable development. The project promotes a shift towards regenerative and holistic educational frameworks, incorporating non-Western narratives and practices. Initial implementation in the curriculum have been positively received, promoting an inclusive and embodied educational approach. This paper provides the foundation for understanding the subsequent articles in the collection, highlighting the significance of interconnected living systems for fostering regenerative societies. |
