| description | The fictional figure of the absurd has long been assosiated to the Camusien’s character Meursault who appeared in the novel L’étranger. This paper intends to explore the intextual depth of this type of character through his doing and his being in four novels: Tistan Bernad’s Aux abois Jean Paul Sartre’s La Nausée, Albert Camus’ L’étranger and Kamel Daoud’s Meursault, contre-enquête . In this perspective, we will examine the analogies, the dissimilarities, the thematic and narrative density around which this character was rebuilt in the course of its evolution. This diachronic approach would benefit to highlight an intertextual depth articulated at the actantial and psychological level of the characters. Roquentin, Meursault and Haroun are now modeled on Paul Dumery, a sort of type which reminds the balzacian conception. It is ins this intertextual perspective that similarities and disparities will lead to the elaboration of the character genesis through his degrees of contemporaneity and anachronisms. |
