| Summary: | Based on a survey of biographical interviews with heterosexual women about “casual sexuality” the aim of this article is to examine the role played by time in representations of casual sex. Using the perspective of sexual scripts and temporal scenes, this paper highlights the way temporalities, understood both as spaces of elapsed time and as temporal settings, play an integral part in the construction of sexual scenarios. The different temporalities give different meanings to sexual practices and play a part in establishing a hierarchy of sexualities, from the most legitimate to the most devalued. |
