| Summary: | Within 5 days of induction with n-butanol medium, 98%vegetative cells of Azotobacter vinelandii gave rise to cysts. 91% vegetative cells of Azotobacter chroococcus were converted to cysts. The cysts were spheroids or elliptical whose axe is 1.2 pm to 1.5 μm. Ultrastructures observation indicated that cyst was composed of the central body in the number of poly-β-hydroxybutyrate granules, an intine and an exine. The intine was a less electron and the exine has a complex multilayered lamellar structure. |
