| Summary: | This article, written in the first-person singular, takes an anecdote as its starting point: the rejection, outside current scientific protocols, of a paper intended for the journal Ebisu, which specializes in Japanese studies. This journal issue focused on a theme related to my culture: Japanese cinema of the past forty years. First, I will examine this issue and discuss its structural asymmetry. Then, I will analyze parts of Mathieu Capel’s Évasion du Japon. Finally, I will describe the mirroring device that underlies these two discursive sets, making it possible to render objective fragments that are merely reflections. |
