Description
Summary:Dear Editor, Stem cell research offers immense potential for regenerative medicine, but its clinical application faces significant challenges. While stem cells can differentiate into various cell types, ethical concerns surrounding embryonic stem cells and the technical complexities of creating patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) hinder progress (1). Many countries have imposed restrictions on embryo research, hindering progress in developing treatments for neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and autoimmune diseases (2). In addition to these ethical concerns, translating scientific discoveries into clinical applications requires the establishment of reliable and repeatable mechanisms that ensure both safety and efficacy.
