description Social goals refer to objectives prioritized by stu-dents during their interactions, which may shape their behavior and school dynamics. Nevertheless, the absence of these goals may lead to conflict. This study ́s goal was to analyze the relationship between social goals and school coexistence, me-diated by violence perception in an educational environment. It corresponds under a quantitative approach with a transversal non-experimental de-sign as well as an explanatory scope. The sample consisted of 567 urban public high school students from the South of Sonora. 41.6% (236) were males, and 58.4% (331) were females. Results showed a significant positive relationship between social goals and school coexistence, as well as a signifi-cant negative relationship between both variables and the general violence index. A significant indirect effect was found between social goals and school coexistence, mediated by the general violence index, which explained the 21% the model ́s variability. Findings put in evidence how violence perception influences the relationship between both variables.
