description This study explores the integration of Montessori principles into sports training particularly football to support motor learning, teamwork, and the personal development of young athletes. Traditionally associated with formal education, the Montessori method emphasizes experiential learning, autonomy, and intrinsic motivation elements that can be effectively adapted to athletic contexts. In football, this approach encourages self-directed exploration of tactics, the development of motor coordination, and active problem-solving, fostering both technical and cognitive growth. Coaches adopting this model shift from authoritarian roles to facilitators, guiding athletes through individualized drills and reflective feedback. This reduces the high-pressure environment often present in conventional sports training and promotes a more supportive, learner-centered atmosphere. The Montessori framework also emphasizes emotional and social development by nurturing communication, collaboration, and mutual respect among players. Importantly, competition is reframed not as a pursuit of victory at all costs, but as an opportunity for personal improvement and goal-setting. This fosters a growth mindset and enhances resilience. Practical applications include self-directed skill stations, collaborative challenges, and environments that encourage learning from mistakes. By blending Montessori values with traditional football training, this method offers a comprehensive, humanistic approach to athlete development. The research highlights the importance of long-term, holistic growth over shortterm performance, aiming to develop not only skilled players, but also self-motivated, responsible individuals prepared to face challenges both on and off the field.
