Summary:A teacher working in the field of additional education for children needs to constantly improve himself. Participation in competitions is one of the key activities aimed at the professional development of a teacher, however, in order to achieve high results and eliminate professional deficits, he needs comprehensive methodological support. Among the main evaluation criteria that exist in professional competitions, it is necessary to highlight the correspondence of the content of additional education to relevant fields of science, culture and technology. To master the tools for updating programs, the regional model center has developed a number of additional professional development programs, including those aimed at mastering modern digital technologies. The author relies on the results of the best practices competition, held annually in the region for specialists in the field of additional education for children. A key component of the competition is the presentation by teachers of the content and results of additional general development programs implemented by them. The potential of the competition lies in its motivating effect on specialists in this field, as it stimulates them to update the content of additional education for children in order to achieve higher competitive results. Updating the content of additional education for children is directly interrelated with the systematic professional development of teachers in the field of application of modern information and communication technologies in the educational process. To update the programs, the possibilities of interactive online services can be used, allowing you to design various types of tasks and implement distance learning. The article reveals the mechanisms for the implementation of various forms of methodological support for teachers of additional education, carried out by the regional model center at the pre-competitive, competitive and post-competitive stages, with an emphasis on updating the content of additional general educational programs.
