| Summary: | The article introduces into scientific discourse the materials obtained during 2020 and 2022 excavations of the Voznesenskoye I settlement, a site of a multiple settling located in the surroundings of Lake Galichskoye. The site was initially settled by the bearers of Fatyanoid cultural traditions. During the late Bronze Age, a population producing net-impressed pottery appeared here. The development of the settlement continued in the IX–VII/VI centuries BC. The data obtained are a valuable source for understanding the evolution of net-impressed ceramic traditions, primarily from the late Bronze Age to the initial phase of the early Iron Age: the finds record and reflect the process of changes in the appearance of pottery at the turn of the II–I millennia BC. Importantly, stratified settlements from this transitional period in the southern taiga Trans-Volga region are currently extremely rare, making the study of materials from Voznesenskoye I highly relevant. In the pottery assemblages from the final Bronze Age to the early Iron Age, there is clear continuity from the local late Bronze Age culture with net-impressed and hatched pottery, and in general, the stability of pottery traditions is noted. |
