| Summary: | A few months after the Schengen zone’s enlargement to Poland, on December 2007, this article analyses the impact of the German-Polish border’s opening on the transborder relations between the twin cities of Frankfurt-upon-Oder and Słubice. Although the last political barriers have been wiped away, other obstacles still hampers further cooperation between these two sides. Our geopolitical analysis is based on a field survey conducted within the twin cities, with particular attention drawn on the cultural and the individual practices of the inhabitants towards the border. |
