| Summary: | The research aims to analyze the relationship between foreign direct investment and its relationship to the level of unemployment in the Iraqi economy. The research relied on the use of the descriptive analytical approach to show the relationship between macroeconomic variables to reach results that help us in developing policies and recommendations that would create an attractive environment for foreign investment and reduce the challenges and obstacles that prevent the encouragement of capital allocated for investment in Iraq, which helps in improving the economic situation and raising economic growth rates, especially in the basic economic sectors that suffer from deterioration, which led to an increase and spread of unemployment rates, especially among young people. The research concluded that the most prominent factors attracting foreign investment in Iraq are political stability, the stability of the security situation, and combating cases of financial and administrative corruption that the Iraqi economy suffers from, which negatively affected the state of capital flow for investment in the Iraqi economy.
