| Summary: | The article describes and analyzes the population dynamics and demographic structure of the economically active population of the Kemerovo Oblast and Altai Krai. These regions are the representatives of the two diametrically opposite clusters - groups of regions "with high shares of manufacturing and extractive industries" and "with relatively low shares of manufacturing and extractive industries." The impact of migration on the size and age structure of the economically active female and male population is analyzed. The comparison of the processes of natural and mechanical movement of the economically active population in these regions is made.
