| Summary: | The authors investigate the nature of websites self-identified as alternative media with a particular interest in where and how the border between journalism and activism is drawn. The subject of the study is the website Gazette Debout, founded as part of the Nuit Debout movement in 2016. Their main line of questioning relates to website copy — who are the contributors and how did they get there? — and how it processes information. They outline an initial approach to the phenomenon that can be used, if the opportunity arises, to sketch some of the outlines of these new journalistic frontiers. |
