On-line computer determination of rate constants from stopped flow data by a nonlinear least square method

The on-line data acquisition from a Durrum D 110 stopped flow spectrophotometer as well as the calculation of rate constants by a nonlinear least square program written for a Hewlett-Packard HP 9820 (or HP 9821) desktop computer is described. Two examples, a first order process and a two step conse...

description The on-line data acquisition from a Durrum D 110 stopped flow spectrophotometer as well as the calculation of rate constants by a nonlinear least square program written for a Hewlett-Packard HP 9820 (or HP 9821) desktop computer is described. Two examples, a first order process and a two step consecutive reaction are used to illustrate the capability of the system. Beside obtaining more precise results and estimates of the corresponding uncertainties there is also a considerable saving of time.
