description Cloud liquid water content (CLWC) is an economically and environmentally important topic related to precipitation and weather improvement. This research aims to investigate the characteristics of the vertical distribution of CLWC within the clouds over the city of Mosul, northern Iraq, the classification of clouds according to the CLWC, and the relationship of the CLWC to air temperature and relative humidity and amount of rain. The relationship between CLWC and temperature was nonlinear, where the liquid water content increases with decreasing temperatures. The relationship between CLWC and the relative humidity is a direct one, as the liquid water content increases with the relative humidity. Likewise, in the precipitation relationship with the CLWC, precipitation does not occur after the cloud produces a CLWC with more than 4 g.m−3.
