Description
Summary:Several cases of internal organ prolapse through the vaginal stump after laparoscopic hysterectomy have been described in the literature. This is a rare complication requiring emergency surgical intervention, as it can be accompanied by infringement and necrosis of the fallen organ with the development of peritonitis. However, an increase in the incidence of vaginal stump failure after laparoscopic hysterectomy has been noted in the world literature. The largest number of failures was noted after laparoscopic hysterectomy (4.9%), after vaginal and abdominal – only in 0.29% and 0.12% of cases.
