| description | Otitis media with effusion is a non-suppurative inflammatory disease, which belongs to the category of 'ear swelling and ear closure ' in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is the most common cause of mild to moderate hearing impairment in children. Both adults and children can be affected, but there are slight differences in etiology and pathogenesis, treatment strategies, and nursing programs at different ages. This article reviews the TCM understanding, treatment based on syndrome differentiation, nursing based on syndrome differentiation, auricular seed-embedding therapy, acupoint massage and emotional nursing of otitis media with effusion in children, in order to provide reference for further study of otitis media with effusion in children.
