Summary:The authors address the controversy surrounding the effects of technology on children. They also discuss the ten main principles of the Montessori perspective on teaching and learning. According to the authors, Montessori’s philosophy aligns precisely with theories of instructional design and educational technology. Given that alignment, the authors conclude that Montessori would have approved of making use of today’s technologies, but would select technologies to address individual students needs and capabilities.
