Summary:The family is the oldest and common natural institution and the community of mankind. The unquestionable role of the family stems from the continuous impact on the human being from an early age. It is the family that offers the possibility of development of the personality of an efficient and disabled human being. For a disabled person, the family becomes the most important inspirer of life. The family mostly influences the quality of life of its disabled members. It is the family that can provide a sense of security, recognition, love and self-worth. The purpose of this article is to attempt to answer the question of what role and importance is played by a disabled person in the family, and how does he/she affect the behavior of individual members of the modern family.
