Description
Summary:This study investigated the influence of various cross-sections on the flexural properties of composite beams. Within the first stage of the paper, a finite element model represented the standard three-point bending test of a composite beam was developed. The model was correlated by mesh dependency analysis and a three-point bending test. After model correlation was completed, composite beam models with 6 cross-sections were generated as CAD data and imported to the correlated finite element model. As a result of the studies, it has been determined that the F profile is the most unstable profile compared to other sections, and the D profile is the most durable profile.
