Summary:Aimed at fatigue strength problem of a certain high-speed EMUs trailer wheel, FEM model of trailer wheelset was established based on FEM method. Combined with the fatigue strength check method presented in standard EN13979-1-2003, dynamic stress ranges of several investigated parts of the wheel were obtained when the trailer wheel ran on tangent track, negotiated curved track and passed through turnout respectively, and the wheel fatigue strength evaluation method was discussed. Analysis results showed that the wheel maximal stress had reached 331.66 MPa, which appeared on the area of hub bore; and for each work condition, maximum stress was under allowable stress, which could meet the fatigue stress requirements of standard EN13979.
