| Summary: | The objective of the study was to compare the uterus microflora in healthy women and in the patients with postpartum endometritis using the method of quantitative assessment of contamination of the material. Further examination revealed polymicrobial etiology of the postpartum endometritis. The leading role in the etiological structure belongs to opportunistic microorganisms: enterococci, enterobacteria (preferably Enterococcus faecalis and Proteus mirabilis), and non-spore forming anaerobes (predominantly - Peptostreptococcus spp. аnd Bacteroides spp.), located in the uterus, in most cases, a bulk quantity as aerobically-anaerobic associations. |
