Description
Summary:Four types of crime prevention are analysed: Physical exclusion; the creation of inner resistance to deviant acts; the reduction of needs for committing such acts; and the shaping of alternatives to prohibited activities. These approaches are, however, all in beautiful harmony with the Western trend towards increased social segregation. The effects of this type of segregation, and the increased differences in wealth in modern societies in general are, remarkably enough, "non-issues" - they are generally ignored within the field of crime prevention.
