description A porous media liquid combustion system based on air atomization fuel supply mode is developed to explore the combustion characteristics of liquid fuel in porous media. Long-term self-sustaining combustion and flame localization of diesel spray are successfully achieved by electric preheating ignition. The flame characteristics and temperature field of diesel spray combustion in spherical bed porous and medium are experimentally studied, and the effects of air flow and fuel injection on temperature distribution are discussed. The experimental results indicate that the electric preheating system has a good stability and repeatability, and the minimum preheating temperature required to maintain stable combustion is 719.2 ℃. Different flame forms are observed in the ignition stage and the stable combustion stage. The burner has a good temperature response performance, and the optimum equivalent ratio to achieve stable combustion of air atomized diesel oil should be between 0.63 and 0.84.
