Summary:Introduction: This research aims to identify the perceptions of business science students in the department of Norte de Santander, Colombia, about entrepreneurship and its associated factors in the regional business sector. Materials and methods: The research follows a descriptive quantitative approach with a field design using multivariate analysis methodology. The sample consisted of four hundred students from business science-related academic programs at public and private universities. Conclusion: Five categories of entrepreneurship perception were identified: innovation, creativity, competitiveness, commerce and business, and seven aspects that characterize a good entrepreneur: self-esteem, sagacity, talent, leadership, vision, creativity, and responsibility.
