description This article analyses widows’ sexuality and questions the social and sexual norms  imposed on elderly widows, a group dominated by gender and age. In the context of their education, especially their sexual education, the death of a spouse would mean the end of sexual relations. What really happens? Does widowhood mean asexuality for elderly women? The in-depth interviews collected through our reserach allow us to advance two main lessons. In the first place, it appears that elderly widows are willing to talk about their sexuality. Secondly, in some cases, elderly widows have sexual desire and look for new sexual partners. Representations and behaviors are changing, suggesting an attenuation of differences in gender relations.
