Description
Summary:Due to health education people can learn how to make their lifestyle healthier. Educating the youngest generations allows them to develop everyday habits which can lead to prevent some diseases. This kind of education is a lifelong process. Health professionals and other people whose work involves social contacts can be the educators. The midwifery education curriculum includes elements of health promotion and education. Health education plays an important role in midwifery. It is often used in caring for a woman at all stages of her life. The midwife prepares the couples for the parenthood and childbirth, she also makes consultations about the proper hygiene and nutrition. In midwifery practice, various forms and methods of health education are used. During the current pandemic, telemedicine plays a significant role in communicating with patients and promoting appropriate health behaviors. Midwifery students who are members of the Scientific Club of Maternity Care at the Jagiellonian University Medical College have the opportunity to be health educators during their studies by organizing and participating in numerous activities focused on health promotion.
