| Summary: | This article aims to analyze trends in research on migration and border security, as well as to identify actions to address the various problems generated by this phenomenon on the Colombia-Venezuela border. The research was based on a bibliometric and documentary study through a review of the SCOPUS database for the topic "migration" and "border security." Tools such as the InOrdinatio method, R-Studio, and Bibliometrix were used to identify scientific production, authors, countries, institutions, and most cited articles. VosViewer software was used to visualize the data online. The 1987-2022 time window initially yielded 221 articles. Regional and national reports and national news stories were also consulted. Based on the above, a growing trend in research worldwide was identified. The year with the highest number of publications was 2021. The country with the highest number of publications is the United States, and the area of greatest interest is the social sciences. It was also evident that there are no publications on the Colombian-Venezuelan border in the Scopus database. This review provides an overview of scientific production related to the object of study and identifies the main actions taken in Colombia to improve the quality of life of migrants and the community that receives them. |
