Description
Summary:Bullying is a global issue affecting students, with significant consequences. This study examined the impact of a school-based bullying education programme on student knowledge of bullying, bullying behaviour, and self-esteem among Jordanian school students. Using an uncontrolled pre-post design, 210 students from grades 7 and 8 in two Jordanian public schools participated in a four-week intervention programme. Results showed significant improvements in students’ knowledge about bullying and self-esteem and decreased victimization rates. The programme’s effectiveness varied based on factors like GPA and grade level. While overall bullying behaviours did not significantly change, there was a notable interaction effect with students’ medical status. These findings highlight the potential of such interventions in Jordanian schools and emphasize the need for tailored approaches considering various student characteristics.
