This article deals with the future theological education of the Dutch Reformed Church. It is argued that future developments do not necessary weaken the Church's position. The Church must, however, take cognisance of the reformation of the university in South Africa and become acquainted with the demands of the so-called information society. It is also accentuated that the Church must contribute to the further development and consolidation of Afrikaans as theological language.
