Summary:The structure of the “clickable” formazan, 3-(4-ethynylphenyl)-1,5-diphenylformazan, has been determined for the first time in a single crystal. The synthesis of 3-(4-ethynylphenyl)-1,5-diphenylformazan was carried out by coupling 4-(trimethylsilyl)ethynylbenzaldehyde phenylhydrazone with diazotized aniline, followed by desilylation, with a total yield of 54%.
