Surface Plasmons in Carbon Nanotubes with Elliptical Cross Section

The paper describes surface plasmons in metallic carbon nanotubes based on the complete system of Maxwell's equations. Dispersion relation for plasmons in nanotubes with an elliptic cross section has been obtained with the use of the boundary perturbation method. The calculated dispersion curve...

description The paper describes surface plasmons in metallic carbon nanotubes based on the complete system of Maxwell's equations. Dispersion relation for plasmons in nanotubes with an elliptic cross section has been obtained with the use of the boundary perturbation method. The calculated dispersion curves were compared with the dispersion curves for surface plasmons in other systems. It has been shown that a increase of deformation of the cross section nanotube leas to displacement of dispersion dependences on the long-wavelength edge of the spectrum.
