Summary:Background: Barriers in dental health care utilization in students of dental college are rarely documented. Good oral health is equally essential as general health, and regular dental care utilization is a key to maintain good oral health. Materials and Method: The present cross-sectional survey was conducted at Dental College of Deemed University, Navi Mumbai. A structured, self-administered questionnaire consisted of 10 questions was given online to students. Among all 325 responded. Collected data were kept confidential and tabulated. Results: Most of the participants knew that general health can get affected by poor oral health and they are satisfied with the treatment provided by the institute. Most of them had last dental care visit within past 6 months. They strongly disagree with the statement that dental problems are not serious and they have never cancelled or postponed appointment due to cost. Conclusion: From the present study, it can be seen that there is a remarkable difference in knowledge, attitude and practices of dental students toward dental healthcare utilization.
