Long stays or short royal visits also transferred the festival to other environments and capitalized on them. The text analyses the Real de Valencia as a space where many of the rituals, ceremonies, and festivities of the city of Valencia converged, both religious and political, either in the square in front of the Real or in its halls, which underwent important transformations on these occasions. The tour ends with the transformation of the Valencian court, since after the union of kingdoms under the Habsburgs, from being a royal palace of the Crown of Aragon, it was occupied only occasionally by the monarchs on their visits and became the residence of the viceroys and lieutenants of the kingdom. |
