We explore with them the way they use their sources to reveal the presence - or absence - of boundaries on ancient and medieval building sites: social boundaries (the absence or presence of certain categories of population, such as women and children, free or forced labourers, etc.), spatial boundaries (the specialisation of zones by activity, the articulation of the different trades transcribed in space) and the temporality of building sites. |
