| Summary: | The character of open-mindedness is important to facilitate the exchange of ideas and viewpoints within the team. Currently, many children still have difficulty accepting opinions from others and tend to lack respect. Thus, fostering the character of open-mindedness is important to do. The purpose of the research is to develop a textbook on footwear civilization based on project-based learning that can foster the character of open-mindedness. This study used the ADDIE-type Research and Development (R & D) method and involved ten certified teachers in various regions for needs analysis, ten validators consisting of five experts and five certified teachers for expert judgment, and eight children aged 10-12 years for limited product trials. The results showed 1) character education textbooks developed with ADDIE stages; 2) The quality of the book is classified as “very good” with a score of (3.92 on a scale of 1-4) and recommended for “no need for revision”; 3) the textbook has an effect on children's open-mindedness character (p < 0.05) with a large effect (r = 0.922) or equivalent to 85%. The effectiveness level includes high effectiveness (N gain score = 77.95%). |
