| Summary: | The Polish-Russian and Lithuanian-Russian borderland is an area with a
significant history and experience in the development of cross-border relations. Until
February 2022, the neighborhood with the Konigsberg region of the Russian Federation
represented an opportunity for the development of the border areas in question. After
the beginning of Russian aggression against Ukraine, the neighborhood with the
Konigsberg region is considered more in terms of security threats. The purpose of this
article is to clarify the conditions of Polish-Russian and Lithuanian-Russian crossborder relations. The author's attention was focused in particular on those factors of
cross-border relations that resulted from the policies and interests of local authorities
on the one hand, and on the other hand from Polish-Russian and Lithuanian-Russian
relations implemented by the central authorities. |
