Description
Summary:OBJECTIVE: To analyze the relationship between screen time, family history, nutritional status of adolescents assisted in the nursing consultation. METHOD: Quantitative, cross-sectional inferential study. The sample, non-probabilistic and intentional, consisted of 228 medical records of adolescents aged between 10 and 19 years. For data collection, a structured form was applied. The analysis used descriptive and inferential statistics. RESULTS: Most adolescents were under 15 years old and female. It was identified that 28.5% of the adolescents were overweight and 44.3% reported excessive screen time. There was an association between screen time and obesity (p= 0.031) and diabetes (p= 0.0005) in the family. CONCLUSION: Excessive screen time associated with overweight, obesity and family history of chronic noncommunicable diseases are risk factors for the health of adolescents, requiring follow-up in a nursing consultation.
